Gae Aulenti

Gaetana 'Gae' Aulenti is one of the most important architects and designers of the 20th century. Aulenti achieved international acclaim for her work, including the design of the Centre Georges Pompidou, the museum of modern art in Paris, France, the Christian Dior offices, the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, and the conversion of the Palacio Nacional de Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain, into the Museum Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. Almost incidentally, the multi-talented Aulenti designs lighting and furniture – now true design classics. Despite her design diversity and creative drive, Aulenti remains relatively unknown to the general public.
